There are many ways to take a screenshot on your Xiaomi phone and in this post, we will be examining all three of them.
Taking screenshots go as far back as the days of Blackberry devices where they are particularly known as “Screen munch” or a screen grab.
So basically anything you see on your phone screen and would like to capture to look at one a later date whether it be a document part, an image, a couple of lines of chart or more. Since then screenshotting has become a normal thing to do.
In fact, it is a cost-effective way of saving Instagram photos rather than downloading an app for that and actually downloading the image.
If you’ve been reading TechBustop every now and then, you’ll have known that we like Xiaomi phones out here, take a look at our unboxing pictures of the Redmi note 7 for example.
So in this post, we’re sharing with you, 3 simple ways to take screenshots on your Xiaomi device, you ready? Let’s begin.
1. Swipe Three Fingers Across The Screen
This is the easiest and effortless way to take a screenshot on your Xiaomi phone.
Come across something you like and would save for later? Just swipe a peace sign and an additional finger on your screen and voila, screenshot already taken.
However, I’m not sure about the availability of this feature across all Xiaomi devices but if you’re using anything from or above MIUI 10, Xiaomi’s custom Android OS User Interface, then you should be able to take a screenshot by swiping three fingers on your screen.
On MIUI 10 and above, try it now. Works? If yes, then you don’t need the other two but it won’t hurt to know them right? So you can pick your favorite, I for one think this is the easiest but it’s not particularly my favorite.
2. Drag Down The Control Center And Hit The Screenshot Icon
Now, this is my favorite, I’m used to pulling down the whole thing anyway, I already control a number of functions by dragging down the control center or navigation bar if you will.
Features like turning on and off Bluetooth, WIFI, Data services and so on.
It just comes naturally to me to drag down the bar and click the icon to get the job done. Here’s what the screenshot icon looks like below.
Again I’m not sure this one would be available to you if you’re not on MIUI 10 and above but it will take you just a few seconds to check that out now, see it?
If yes, cool, if no then you might want to settle for the traditional way that works no matter the UI version.
3. Press Down The Power And Lower Volume Button At Once
Very stressful, sometimes, I’d by mistake switch off my phone in the process but the good thing about this one is that it works.
Virtually on every Android device in fact so it doesn’t matter if you hold a Samsung phone, or a Google Pixel or one of these android phones under 35k.
The time and energy it takes to pull this one off just seem like a lot of work especially if you have many other things you have to attend to but it is known and proven to work all the time.
So now that you’ve read this post, you never have to worry about taking screenshots on your xiaomi phones anymore.
