What Android phone can I buy for myself under ₦35,000 with a good camera and battery life? We answered that question.

PS: This post isn’t necessarily for when you want to buy yourself a new device, you may want to gift one as well, just saying ?

Back to the post, there are a couple of nice Android smartphones you can get for yourself here in Nigeria within that price range but it won’t be that great in terms of performance.

For example you can’t compare the photo quality taken with a 30k smartphone with one taken with a 400k iPhone X.

Battery life also applies in this case alongside other things. However, the unavailable of a big budget for a phone shouldn’t mean you wouldn’t or don’t need one, you just have to find the perfect one that suits your need till you’re able to upgrade cause trust me, if you’re an advanced phone user like me, you’ll get frustrated a couple of times.

We did some digging and came up with this list of android phones to buy for under ₦35,000 in Nigeria.

I personally used some of these devices and they did live up to the hype so you’re good to go if you do grab one of the midrange phones on this list. Let’s get started.

1. Tecno Spark 3

Tecno spark 3 is one of Tecno’s latest addition to the Spark series.

The device spots a futuristic notch design alongside an attractive specifications and a huge screen real estate. It also packs a 3500 mAH battery that allows you to go all day long. The only downside to this option is the 1GB RAM.

If you’re about using your phone for different tasks all at once, you might want to skip this option.

Tecno Spark 3 Quick Specs

  • Screen: 6.2-inch, IPS LCD
  • Memory: 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM
  • CPU: Quad Core
  • Operating System: Android 8.1 Oreo
  • Camera: 13MP Back Camera, 8MP Front Camera
  • Battery: 3500mAh Li-Ion

2. Infinix HOT 7 (X624)

As of the time of writing this post, the Infinix hot 7 is one of Infinix mobility’s newest mid-range device. The hot series is on the cheap but quality side.

Remember the first Infinx hot? That device was one to kill for when it was released back then via jumia and sold for only ₦13,500. We’ll ever since there have been 5 seniors to that device and the latest one? Hot 7. It’s at the top of our list as must buy under 35k.

Pretty neat, sweet to look at, futuristic design as per the iPhone X like notch and specs not bad for the price.

Infinix Hot 7 Quick Specs

  • 6.2″ HD+ Full View Display
  • CPU: Quad Core 1.3GHz
  • Memory: 1GB RAM, 16GB RAM
  • Camera: 13MP + 8MP
  • Operating System: Android 8 (Go Edition)
  • 4000mAh Battery
  • Face Unlock & Fingerprint

  • Network: 3G

2. Xiaomi Redmi Go

xiaomi redmi go

Xiaomi makes good device and is starting to pick up some steam in Nigeria and this is expected to even increase now that they’re opening an office around here to offer Nigerians even more.

I’ve used not one but two Xiaomi phones and I can attest to the fact that these phones are cool. The Xiaomi Redmi go shouldn’t be an exception. This one is far on the cheaper side and offers less than our first device from Infinix.

This phone is perfect for those that don’t need much from their phones than to make regular calls and take a few pictures here and there. Getting repair parts in Nigeria has been an issue, I’ve had to ship in two screens at different times when I broke my phone twice (Carelessness).

Anyway, all these will go away once Xiaomi Nigeria kicks off which is very soon by the way. They launch here on April 24.

Xiaomi Redmi Go Quick Specs

  • Screen:  5-Inch HD (1280 x 720), 16:9
  • CPU: Snapdragon 425 Quad Core
  • Storage: 1GB RAM; 8GB ROM
  • Operating System: Android 8.1 Oreo Go
  • Camera: 8.0 MP Rear + 5.0 MP Front
  • Slot: Dual SIM + Dedicated microSD Card Tray

3. UMIDIGI A3

UMIDIGI A3

Remember I mentioned I broke my phone’s screen twice. Well, the second time, it feel in a pretty bad way, such that the sceen went off totally. I had to ship another screen from overseas and can’t be phoneless. This is the phone I fell back on.

Unfortunately for me, shipments were delayed and I had to wait over a month to get my new screen but fortunately for this review I have enough intel for you on this post.

The Umidigi A3 is an entry level smartphone introduced into the market by Umidiji around September, 2018.  I used this phone for about 4 weeks if not more and although a few lags here and there but for the price? Very okay.

Umidiji A3 Quick Specs

  • Screen: 5.5″incell HD+display
  • Memory: 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM
  • Processor: Smartphone Quad Core

Gionee smartphones are quite popular in Nigeria. So popular that you don’t have to look around too much to get a spare part in case you damage your phone.

Gionee has been around for a long time and their devices are not that bad at all. This Gionee F6 is one of Gionee’s budget phone we recommend to buy for under 35k. The 3GB RAM on this phone is a plus, This assures you for some sort of speed although not a guarantee.

You’re also getting three cameras on the gionee F6, much like the Umidiji A3 above but the battery is not that great, you may need to carry a powerbank around.

Gionee F6 Quick Specs

  • Screen Size: 5.7-Inch (1440 x 720)
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa-Core
  • Memory: RAM: 3GB; ROM: 32GB

lenovo a5

Lenovo has also been around for a long time and I’ve been oppourtuned to use a couple of their phones, not this one though.

The similar, cool thing about these lenovo devices is the slim and very light nature. The Lenovo A5 is one of lenovo’s cheapest device. This smartphone houses 2 sims and a memory card.

Again, it has another wonderful pro. 3GBs of RAM. It’s hard to see a phone with that amount of RAM under 35k in Nigeria. This phone supports fingerprint ID and also face ID using the front camera to map the face. It also has a big battery.

Lenovo A5 Quick Specs

  • 5.45 Inch 18:9 Full Screen

8. Nokia 3.1

nokia 3.1

Nokia phones in this part world are considered super strong and of great quality. People that think this are not wrong provided Nokia’s reputation when it comes to making quality smartphones.

Nokia went off for a while and came back under a parent company, HMD, and they claim to maintain the same quality from the past Nokia phones, I don’t think they’re wrong. The new Nokia phones I’ve held these past few days have been nothing but awesome.

If you’re a fan of Nokia phones as we all have our preferences then this phone is your best bet under 35k.

Now this one is a little bit over 35k but if you have some extra money to throw on a smartphone, you definitely should get this Samsung device.

We all know Samsung makes quality phones but can we be very sure of that now that the new Galaxy fold is having issues, Anyways, that’s a new smartphone scope so we predicted that.

Anyways, the new Galaxy A10 is worth the buy with it’s bBigger and bezel-Less display and camera which allows it to take clear and bright photos.
